The Something Fest Story.
The birth of Something Fest was somewhat serendipitous. It was literally five people coming together over a glass of wine, all with a vision of strengthening Queensland’s innovation economy.
Before you knew it, a new festival was born. By Queenslanders for Queenslanders. Built from the ground up by organisations which were already doing great work in the ecosystem.
Something Fest was officially launched in February 2022 with three simple goals:
- To strengthen capabilities in organisations big and small
- To increase collaborations between government, industry and emerging tech (startups/scale ups)
- To showcase the fantastic innovations that are running right here in our backyard
Running over 5 days and spearheaded by the teams at Something Digital, River City Labs and Proptech BNE, the festival equally focussed on digital innovation and emerging technology.
The addition of the Queensland Government as a collaborative partner provided the final piece of the puzzle, allowing us to create a unique offering rooted in Queensland yet possessing a breadth of content that appeals to the wider Australian audience.
Something Fest offers a little something for everyone; small businesses and startups, large enterprises, institutions, and government entities, across industries and job roles whether you are just starting out in your career or run a multi national organisation.
